About
From humble beginnings, on the banks of the River Mersey, overlooking the iconic Liverpool skyline, Low Slow and Dough was founded.
In 2018 owner Ian Marray and head chef Alex Warrington engaged in the pursuit of a shared passion to set up as a Mexican food vendor in the Woodside Ferry Village food court.
It was way back then that the ‘Badass’ challenge was born and before long it was attempted by some heavy hitters in the UK competitive eating scene, none more so than ‘Beard meets food’ and ‘Kyle v food’.
After spending two years at Woodside and having gained many loyal customers, there were residencies and pop-ups around Merseyside, until early 2023, when their first bricks and mortar venue was opened in Oxton Village, Wirral.
Our Food
Their current menu is influenced by the vibrant street food of Mexico City and the cool cocktail bars of California, fused with traditional American burger joints.
Everything that is produced there is made with passion, skill and the very best ingredients, both local and imported directly from Mexico.
Their menu is underpinned by the most authentic ‘smash burgers’ this side of the Atlantic, with a delicious range of grilled burritos and their zingy salsas, with house smoked ‘BBQ brisket’ or homemade traditional ‘beef birria’.
They offer a range of mouth watering sides and small plates, from crispy, juicy ‘fried chicken’ tenders, to decadent ‘mac & cheese’ and a range of tasty loaded nachos and fries.
As for drinks, think vibrant tequila and mezcal cocktails with a range of punchy margaritas a speciality, alongside sophisticated bourbon cocktails and inspired twists on some old classics. There’s Mexican beers, and delicious wines too. For the non drinkers (and kids), there’s a range of refreshing ‘mocktails’ which pack a real punch of flavour without the alcohol.
There really is nowhere quite like Low Slow & Dough, with it’s relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, outstanding food that you’ll be thinking about long after you leave and their fantastic cocktails that are worth the visit on their own.

Party Bookings
Eating, drinking and socialising lie at the heart of Tex-Mex hospitality. Our adaptable private dining dining room is ideal for all types of group bookings, from birthdays to board meetings. Our ‘Mexican Garden Room’, capable of accommodating around 30 guests is adorned with Mexican plants and fauna to imitate the gardens of Mexico City.
We offer buffet selections or à la carte, along with drinks packages or bespoke bar service.
